Whew! What a summer it was. Hard to believe it's actually over now. It's a warm beautiful day here in Maine. Free Seedlings did a number of concerts and other performances, and we truly appreciate the turnout and support we've had. THANK YOU.
Our CD, Uncommon Kinship, has been doing well in sales as well as response. If you don't have one yet, they'll be for sale shortly (within a week we hope) on CD Baby.
Jeff is back up at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, Bennett is down in Shelter Island, New York planning his agricultural and musical projects, and David is holding down the fort at Belmont View Music, and performing with his two jazz bands: the Mr. PC Trio and the Shaiben Jazz Ensemble. Free Seedlings hopes to re-unite for some performing around Christmas time. Check back here for announcements!
All the best to you all -

We had our CD release part last night and WOW! What a wonderful turn-out, so many good friends and extended family - Many many thanks to Annadeene and all the partners at Aarhus Gallery in Belfast for hosting us and making us feel really special.
We played a whole lot of our favorite songs and tunes, and in general had more fun than we have any right to. Thanks again to all who attended.
We're playing a party tomorrow in Rockport, then off to the WERU fair on Saturday, then off to the East Benton Fiddle Convention on Sunday morning.
Jeff and I and Barron went to Greyfox and camped with Gregg and Sammy and a whole lot of other friends, old and new. The picking was great, the bands blew us away over and over. Personal favorites: Stringdusters, Sparrow Quartet, Chris Thile, Sam Bush, and way more than I can even remember right now.
I hope you're all having anywhere near as good a summer as we are - so far. Best to you all and thanks again!

A busy summer! The CD is back and looks great... check out a few cuts under "listen" and be sure to get your first edition copy while they stiill last!
We've played some excellent gigs in the last few weeks, including an energetic post-thunderstorm show at Belfast Summer nights, and a packed house of rabid library enthusiasts in Camden. Sales of the disc have been brisk, which is exciting. Feedback has been excellent and people keep naming their favorite numbers- no clear song has emerged but Brushpile seems to be in the running, along with Fisherman. Jeff sings that one real nice.
We keep adding gigs to the calendar so keep your eyes on dates- especially our CD release party at Aarhus Gallery in Belfast on July 26th at 7.30pm! Watch Belfast Summer Nights and then come up to Aarhus to help us officially celebrate the release of "Uncommon Kinship." We'll be playing a couple of shorter sets, signing albums and saying thanks to all who helped us amke this project such a great success.
Music, beverages, post-dinner snacks, great art and great friends- what could be better! $5 entrance!

We completed our CD over last weekend - final mixing and mastering. Yesterday, after one more last minute fix, the master disk was sent off to Diskmakers. Bennett and Jeff worked hard on the design, which features a wonderful painting by Annadeene Konesni (who also sings on the record) as the front cover. We'll have the finished product in hand in 3 weeks or so, hopefully in time for our concert at the Camden Amphitheatre on July 5. What a lot of work has gone into this project! We are very well pleased with our new record and can't wait to start sharing it with you all.

Well, gigs are rolling right in these days, and Jeff's almost back from Gould. Pretty sooon, we'll be performing at a stage near you! And we'll have an album to show off too. We're just a week away from sending out Uncommon Kinship to the printer!

We're about a month off from finishing everything on "Uncommon Kinship" so that means we're onto mixing and mastering. Can't wait to get it out this summer!
Also, Dave and Jeff decided to put all of the files from their 2006 CD "Jump" on this website for everyone to check out. So head to the Listen page and download them, give them to your friends, etc. Enjoy!
